Since its debut in 2007, the Capital Hoops Classic has played host to some of the highest recorded attendance figures in U SPORTS basketball history. Over 100,000 fans have experienced the incredible rivalry and epic games between the Gee-Gees and Ravens.

In 2015 a record 10,780 fans attended the event at Canadian Tire Centre.

In 2020, the teams will meet for the 14th edition of the Capital Hoops Classic on Friday, February 7.


Date: February 7, 2020 at 6 p.m.

Location: TD Place Arena, Lansdowne

Tickets / Gee-Gees Pass: $15 ($10 for Gee-Gees Pass holders*) – sold in person at Montpetit 102 starting January 8! Limit of 4 tickets per person.

*Discount only applicable when Gee-Gees Pass is presented in person at client services desk.

Take Transit: Game Day tickets provides free transit on all OC Transpo routes starting 3 hours prior to event, and up to 3 hours after event.

Here are a few game day rules to follow:

  • Bags will not be allowed on the shuttle or inside TD Place.
  • Be cool, know your limit and drink responsibly. Make sure you have a plan to get home. Students showing signs or intoxication will not be permitted to board the shuttle bus or enter TD Place.

The Gee-Gees women have won the Capital Hoops Classic trophy four times: in 2019, 2015, 2014, and 2012.

The Gee-Gees men were victorious in 2016 and 2007.
