In their third game of the regular season the women's hockey team faced off against McGill Saturday afternoon at the Minto Sports Complex. The Gee-Gees led early but three unanswered goals led to a 3-1 loss. Léa Dumais scored a hat trick for the Martlets, improving McGill's record to 2-0-0.
Sara Lachance scored the first goal of the game for Ottawa with only one minute left in the period. She was assisted by Adele Dossou and Christine Deaudelin, corralling a bounce off the end boards for a sneaky goal.
At the start of the second period, McGill counted two goals from Léa Dumais just 40 seconds apart. Dumais completed her hat trick at the 19:41 mark in the third period on an empty net goal.
In total Ottawa took 37 shots on goal and McGill took 28. It was a hard fought game for the Gee-Gees but they will seek the first win of the regular season at the next game, November 1 at Carleton. Puck drop against the 0-1-0 Ravens is set for 7 p.m.
