RECAP: Gee-Gees season ends with a heart wrenching loss in London
The University of Ottawa women's basketball saw their season come to a close in the opening round of the OUA playoffs.
After an 11-11 finish to the regular season, the Gee-Gees were matched with the Western Mustangs to open postseason play.
Western built an early six-point lead in the opening quarter before breaking the game open with a 27-point performance in the second frame.
Despite battling through the second half, the Gee-Gees were unable to chip away at the deficit and the Mustangs secured a 77-50 victory. Western's rookie standout, Sydney Cowan, logged the game high 23 points.
With the loss, the Gee-Gees close the chapter on their 2025-26 campaign.
