  • The Matchup: #7 Ottawa Gee-Gees (18-7) vs Concordia Stingers (16-9)

OTTAWA GAME NOTES

  • Major stat leaders
  • Ottawa put together another two-win weekend after defeating Lakehead and Toronto. The 4-3 win over Lakehead was the team's third consecutive overtime battle.
  • The remainder of the Gee-Gees schedule will be played on the road, including the Colonel By Classic at TD Place. Leading up to their matchup against Concordia, Ottawa is 7-5 in away games.
  • Max Grondin had a big weekend for the Gee-Gees, contributing four goals in their two games. 

CONCORDIA GAME NOTES

  • Major stat leaders
    • Goals: Charles-Antoine Paiment – 10
    • Assists: Phelix Martineau – 18
    • Points: Phelix Martineau – 25
    • Wins: Nikolas Hurtubise – 8
  • Concordia is in the race for the OUA East, only four points behind McGill and Ottawa we are tied for first.
  • In their previous meeting with the Gee-Gees, Concordia picked up the 4-3 win at Minto Sports Complex, scoring three goals in the second period.
  • The Stingers have fallen in two of their last three matchups, both to the Gaels. Concordia struggled to score goals against Queen's, getting shutout 3-0 on Jan. 26.

  • Major stat leaders
    • Goals: Simon Lafrance – 22
    • Assists: Conor Frenette, Felix Lafance, Simon Lafrance – 18
    • Points: Simon Lafrance – 40
    • Wins: Alexis Gravel – 12
  • Simon Lafrance has been lighting up the OUA, leading in both goals and points with only 22 games played.
  • Felix Lauzon scored the lone goal in UQTR's first matchup with Ottawa. The shorthanded goal was scored partway through the third period.
  • UQTR is a single point behind OUA East leaders, McGill and Ottawa. The final games on the schedule are crucial for all these teams to secure home ice during playoffs.
