OTTAWA GAME NOTES

  • Major stat leaders
  • The Gee-Gees opened 2024 with a pair of wins, extending their streak to seven victories. Ottawa first defeated the Carleton Ravens 4-1 and then took the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks to a shootout. Mathieu Desgagnes snagged the goal in the 1-0 win.
  • Franky Lapenna continues to be a star between the posts for the Gee-Gees, earning his first shutout victory in the Garnet and Grey in Sunday's win over Ontario Tech. He leads the OUA with a 1.53 goals-against average and .948 save percentage.
  • Ottawa now leads the OUA East with a 14-5 record, only nine games remain on the schedule.

CONCORDIA GAME NOTES

  • Major stat leaders
    • Goals: Charles-Antoine Paiement – 10
    • Assists: Phelix Martineau – 13
    • Points: Mathieu Bizer, Charles-Antoine Paiement – 18
  • Like the Gee-Gees, the Stingers are on a win streak that began in 2023. Ending the first half of the season with a 4-2 win over Waterloo, Concordia is on a three-game win streak following two January wins.
  • This marks the first of two meetings between the Stingers and Gee-Gees this season, in the 2022-23 season, Concordia won all three matchups.

  • After suffering a tight 1-0 loss to Ottawa on Jan. 7, Ontario Tech will visit York before getting a chance at revenge against the Gee-Gees.
  • The Ridgebacks are currently in the middle of the pack in the OUA East standings, and are looking to improve their record throughout the final stretch of the season in hopes of earning a playoff spot.
