• Ottawa emerged victorious in their first matchup of the season with Carleton. The Gee-Gees won a hotly contested affair 5-3, with Tommy Bouchard getting a late game winner.
• The OUA's two top powerplays will be squaring off. McGill is first averaging 29.1 percent on the man advantage, while Ottawa is second at 24.7 percent.
• Anthony Poulin enters the weekend on a five-game point streak. The captain has earned eight points over the stretch (two goals, six assists).

• McGill's heaviest loss of the season came at the hands of the Gee-Gees on Nov. 5 when Ottawa won 6-1.
• Redbird netminders have split time between the pipes almost equally this season. Alexis Shank has slightly better numbers than Emanuel Vella, although each have four wins.
• Felix-Antoine Tourigny has only appeared in three games for McGill this year, but could have the opportunity to face his brother, Gee-Gees netminder Jean-Philippe Tourigny, Friday evening.

• Each of Concordia's last four games have included shutouts – the Stingers have been shut out twice and they've shutout their opponent twice.
• Tyler Hylland is off to an uncharacteristically slow start. Hylland was scoring at a goal-every-other-game pace through his first two seasons, but has only two markers through 12 games.
• The OUA East is extremely tight at the moment. Concordia are in second place with 19 points, while Carleton occupy sixth with 17 points.
