Bio
Jean-Vincent “Coach JV” Posy-Audette serves as the Defensive Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach of the uOttawa Gee-Gees, bringing over two decades of U SPORTS coaching experience. He joined the Gee-Gees in 2015 following two seasons with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL), where he worked as a Defensive Assistant, Special Teams Coordinator, and Pro Scout. His professional background also includes playing for the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL and guest coaching at NFL training camps with the Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, and Chicago Bears. This combined playing and coaching expertise deeply enriches his mentorship of student-athletes at uOttawa.
As a player, Posy-Audette was an elite two-sport athlete in Track and Field and Football. He starred as a defensive back for the Laval Rouge et Or, earning two All-Canadian selections, capturing a Vanier Cup championship in 1999, and becoming a CFL draft pick. His seamless transition into coaching has been defined by program-building and leadership. He founded the Football School of the Carabins, a summer camp for youth aged 9–15, and served as an instructor with Football Québec, contributing to coach certification and development. Internationally, he helped establish the first American football development camps in Senegal (2023, 2024), introducing the sport to over 100 young African athletes.
At uOttawa, Coach JV has developed one of the most competitive defensive units in Canadian university football while mentoring numerous athletes who have successfully advanced to the CFL. His leadership philosophy extends far beyond on-field performance, reflecting a strong commitment to holistic student-athlete development. In his capacity as an academic supervisor, he integrates scholarly guidance with athletic mentorship, fostering excellence in both academic achievement and athletic performance, and preparing athletes for success in their careers and communities.
In addition to his coaching career, Posy-Audette completed an Executive MBA at the Telfer School of Management (2022), equipping him with advanced training in leadership, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement. This academic foundation complements his applied expertise in program development and organizational management.
He also contributes to broader community impact through his role as an Entrepreneurship Coach at the Telfer School of Management, where he supports newcomers in establishing small businesses. In parallel, he serves as an Entrepreneurship Coach with the University of Ottawa’s Professional Development Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, a program uniquely tailored to assist Canadian veterans in launching and managing their own businesses. These initiatives reflect his commitment to fostering economic empowerment and leadership development beyond the football field.
