Dan Sartor: 1974-1977
An offensive lineman, Sartor switched from guard to centre in 1975 and provided the stellar play and leadership on each offensive play which helped propel the team to its undefeated, Vanier Cup championship-winning season. Named an All-Canadian in 1975, Sartor was the captain on the offensive line which was vital to the success of legendary Gee-Gees running backs.
Sartor came to uOttawa following one season at Idaho State University in 1973, and he was selected by Ottawa in the 1977 CFL Draft. Originally from Hamilton, Ont., he earned a Bachelor of Physical Education degree from uOttawa and completed a Master's of Education degree in 1982. He later coached his hometown Cathedral and St. Thomas More teams to high school city football championships.
Mike White: 1992-present
Beginning in 1992, Coach White has been a powerful force behind numerous legendary Gee-Gees defensive units and he has seen over twenty All-Canadians selected from the Garnet and Grey secondary.
The defensive coordinator for the 2000 Vanier Cup winning Gee-Gees, White has stood out as a key recruiter, motivator, and tactician for the Gee-Gees over his tenure which has included Dunsmore Cup Championships in 1995, 1996, 1997, and 2000, and a Yates Cup win in 2006. He was the recipient of the OUA Volunteer Coach of the Year award in 2018.
