Bio
Makenzy joined the Gee-Gees swimming coaching staff in summer of 2025 as the full-time assistant coach. She returned home to Ottawa after working as an assistant coach at the University of Regina, the Regina Dolphins Swim Club, and at Simon Fraser University. 
 
Prior to starting her coaching career, Makenzy was an NCAA student-athlete at the University of Sioux Falls, where she received the Freshman of the Year award and was a Dean's List scholar in chemistry. A record holder in the 400 IM at USF, Makenzy began swimming with the Nepean Kanata Barracudas.
