Emilie Comtois-Rousseau, RD, MSc, MA
Lead Performance Dietitian – Varsity Programs

Emilie has served as the Lead Registered Dietitian for the Gee-Gees Varsity teams since the 2023–2024 season. Known for her fast-paced, enthusiastic, and creative approach, she is recognized for blending on-field support with behind-the-scenes leadership and for fostering a supportive, athlete-centered culture that emphasizes both performance and wellbeing.

Born and raised in Montréal, Emilie spent part of her early adult life in Québec City, where she earned a BA in Mathematics and Economics (Université Laval, 2007) and an MA in Economics (Université Laval, 2009). She then worked as an economist for the federal government before returning to school in her late twenties to follow her passion for sport and nutrition. An alumna of the University of Ottawa, Emilie completed a BSc in Nutrition (2017) and later an MSc in Nutrition (McGill University, 2020), where her research focused on RED-S (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport) and swimmers. She is a licensed dietitian in both Québec and Ontario.

A versatile professional, Emilie has been immersed in sport throughout her life. A former swimmer turned swim coach, she has over 20 years of experience coaching swimming. She has contributed as an athlete, coach, support staff, volunteer, and healthcare professional at community, provincial, and national levels, including major events such as the Canada Games (Niagara 2022)and multiple away training camps. She values collaboration and community in all aspects of her work, aiming to support athletes not only in their performance but also in their overall development.

In addition to her sport expertise, Emilie has built strong clinical experience during COVID-19 and through specialized training in sport nutrition, digestive disorders, RED-S, and fatigue management. Her approach combines adaptability and creativity, with the goal of helping athletes reach their full potential through strategies that are evidence-based, practical, and centered on long-term performance and wellbeing.
