The Gee-Gees were unstoppable at the Minto Sports Complex, picking up two massive wins to vault themselves into 2nd place in the OUA East standings. They set the tone early against Ontario Tech, outshooting them 17-3 in the first period and never looking back. Gillian Warren had an MVP-caliber weekend, racking up 3 goals and 3 assists to climb to 3rd in the OUA in goals scored, and 4th in points. Maëlle Laplante continues to dish with the best of them; her 3 assists this weekend put her in a three-way tie for the OUA lead. Meanwhile, Clara Genier continued to give her best impression of a brick-wall, with a shutout victory over TMU.

Men's Hockey: Weekend sweep locks Gee-Gees into Queen's Cup playoffs

With two road victories, the Gee-Gees have officially punched their ticket to the Queen's Cup playoffs. The offense was firing on all cylinders against RMC, with 10 different players finding the scoresheet and 5 having multi-point nights. The following night against Ontario Tech was a tighter affair, but Andrew Belchamber played the hero, potting two goals and tacking on an assist. Just 20 seconds after Belchamber tied the game in the third period, Lucas Veilleux buried the game-winner off a feed from Mitch Martin and Alexis Bonefon to secure the sweep.

It was a challenging weekend for the Gee-Gees against two of the league's top teams. At the Capital Hoops Classic, Ottawa went toe-to-toe with rival Carleton in the first half, entering the third quarter down by just a single point. However, a monster second half from the Ravens put the game out of reach on the big stage. Back at home against Brock, a cold third quarter created a deficit that a furious fourth-quarter rally couldn't quite overcome.

In both contests, Ottawa took the lead in the first quarter and never let up, showcasing incredible depth and team defense. The Gee-Gees have now won 6 in a row and 10 of their last 11 games, cementing their position as one of the hottest teams in the OUA.
