It was a perfect weekend at the Minto Sports Complex as the Gee-Gees swept a pair of key opponents. Gillian Warren was the offensive catalyst, scoring in both games, including the overtime winner against Western. Her three-point weekend vaulted her to 5th in OUA scoring. Maëlle Laplante also climbed the leaderboards, with her two assists moving her into a tie for 2nd in the conference. Between the pipes, Clara Genier was nearly unbeatable, allowing just one goal in each match while sporting a sparkling .944 save percentage.

Men's Hockey: Loss against #1 team in OUA rectified with win against Nipissing

A tough Friday night matchup against the top-ranked UQTR Patriotes ended in a loss, despite a goal and an assist from Nicolas Bilodeau. However, the Gee-Gees didn't falter when given the chance to bounce back, securing a solid 4-2 victory over Nipissing to close out the weekend. Goaltender Franky Lapenna was the star of the show on Sunday, making 31 saves and even earning an assist on the scoresheet. Alexis Daviault also had a strong night offensively, dishing out two assists.

The Gee-Gees were dominant this weekend, starting with a suffocating defensive performance against Algoma. Ottawa opened that game on a 21-2 run and never looked back, led defensively by Enora Touloute, who ripped an incredible 8 steals and also smacked down 2 blocks. The momentum carried over to a huge first half against Lakehead that built enough cushion to withstand a late rally by the Thunderwolves. Bailey Russell was an offensive force, shooting at an 18-for-25 clip over the two games, while Allie McCarthy continued to always be nearly a lock for a double-double.

After a comfortable team win against Algoma led by Louis Daoust's energy off the bench, the Gee-Gees returned home for an instant classic against Lakehead. In a game that featured a staggering 24 lead changes and 16 ties, the result came down to the final second. Alec Phaneuf played hero, hitting a jumper at the buzzer to secure the 89-87 victory. All eyes now turn to the Capital Hoops Classic on February 6th against the rival Carleton Ravens. With Carleton sitting 1st in the OUA (16-2) and Ottawa now 2nd in the East, the stage is set for a massive showdown.

After a stumbling start on Friday resulted in a tough four-set loss, the team regrouped and responded on Saturday. Behind a dominant net presence from Harper Schaefer, who recorded 4 solo blocks along with her 30 assists, and the consistent scoring of Audrey Odigie, Ottawa secured a 3-1 victory to get back to .500 on the season.
