The former Gee-Gees centre is very excited to start competing and to be selected among the best players in the country, "I have worked really hard to become the rugby player I am. It is exciting to see yourself grow as a rugby player and see that hard work you put into a sport really does pay off," said Watcham-Roy.
Watcham-Roy is ready to participate in the FISU games for a third consecutive time and is ready to rise up to the challenge ahead by applying what she learned throughout her rugby career, "Being a part of this event is an opportunity of a life time. It is tough both mentally and physically tough but I have really learned how prepare myself. Also I have worked on my speed and strength as well as my skills which play a huge part in a sevens game," Watcham-Roy said.
After winning the bronze medal at the 2013 FISU games in Kazan, Russia, the Canadian women's rugby team are confident about their roster again this time around, "The chemistry at the selection training camp was very positive and we are all working together to reach a common goal and represent Canada to our best," mentioned Watcham-Roy.
