Gee-Gees rookies named QSSF women's rugby all-star
Gee-Gees women's rugby rookie fullback / wings Janine McKay and Sarah Meng were named Thursday Quebec Student Sports Federation conference all-stars.
McKay, 17, from Anten Hills, ON and a uOttawa Health Sciences major, scored one try after appearing in each of six conference matches and was instrumental in the Gee-Gees securing a 17th consecutive playoff berth. The 2008 athlete of the year at Barrie Central Collegiate high school, McKay has an eye towards a career in pediatrics.
Meng, 19, from Waterloo, ON, appeared in five of six conference matches while studying a combined Honours degree in Linguistics and Psychology. A 2008 graduate of Waterloo Collegiate, Meng is looking into a career as a speech pathologist for disabled children.
