NEWS: Coaching change for Gee-Gees women’s hockey program

The University of Ottawa Gee-Gees announced on Friday a recent decision regarding their women's hockey program.

Yanick Evola has decided to step down from his position as head coach and program manager of the Gee-Gees women's hockey program, effective immediately, to seek other opportunities.

The Gee-Gees would like to thank Yanick for his work over the past 10 seasons with the program and wish him success in his future endeavours.

Chelsea Grills has been named interim head coach and will manage the program for the remainder of the 2019-20 season.

As a full-time assistant-coach, Grills captured a Division 3 NCAA National Championship with Amherst College in 2010 and a U SPORTS Championship with McGill in 2014 before joining the uOttawa program in 2017. She has also served as assistant coach and team leader for Canada's team at the 2019 Winter Universiade in Russia.
