Steve Seguin (Cornwall, Ont.) is joining the University of Ottawa women's hockey team as an Assistant Coach after several years with the Ontario Women's Hockey Association's Under 18 program.
A long time women's hockey advocate, Steve has been involved in the women's game for over 16 years, and has been teaching hockey since 1983.
Steve served as head coach of Team Ontario Red in 2007 (Kitchener, On.) and 2011 (Saguenay, Qc.), where they captured the National Championship title on both occasions.
"I'm very pleased with the hiring of Steve into our program. Steve is not only a very good coach, but he is also a great person that will make our program better. His experience and knowledge will without a doubt help our young players progress at a quicker pace", explains head coach Yanick Evola.
A graduate of the Peterborough Petes, he made the jump to the NHL with the Los Angeles Kings before a serious injury brought an abrupt end to his National Hockey League career.
"I am looking forward to working with Yanick in the quest to build a National Championship team at the University of Ottawa," said Seguin.
