Although the Gee-Gees women's hockey season came to an end this past Sunday, second-year forward Fannie Desforges' impressive season did not go unnoticed. The Fournier, Ont., native was honored on Tuesday with an RSEQ First Team All-Star selection.
Desforges led the Gee-Gees with 17 points in 20 games, totaling 9 goals and 8 assists on the season.
Gee-Gees head coach Yanick Evola is pleased to see Fannie's hard work pay off: "She is an athlete who trains very hard and works very hard, a real athlete who wants to keep improving. Last summer we focused on her speed and physical conditioning, and it really paid off this season with her becoming one of the top players in the league."
"Fannie is a great leader as she matures and further develops her confidence. We know we have a first quality goal scorer for our program, and I'm excited to have her with us for at least another two years," added Evola.
