OTTAWA GAME NOTES

  • Major Stat Leaders
  • The Gee-Gees enter the game well rested; their matchup with the UQTR Patriotes that was scheduled for Saturday, November 2 was cancelled due to a massive power outage in Trois-Rivières. They will not have played a game in 13 days when the puck drops Saturday. 
  • Ottawa enters the game on a two-game losing streak. The last time they lost two straight games in regulation was the first weekend of 2018 when they dropped consecutive matchups to McGill and Concordia.
  • Kevin Domingue and Cody Drover are trying to become the first Ottawa players to reach the 100-point plateau since the program was re-established in 2016. Domingue is sitting on 99 career points (55 goals, 44 assists) in 91 games as a Gee-Gee, while Drover has 98 points (29 goals, 69 assists) in 90 games.  
  • Mathieu Newcomb enters the weekend on a three-game point streak. The last time he put up points in three straight games was in January 2018.

McGILL GAME NOTES 

  • Major Stat Leaders
    • Goals:  Guillaume Gauthier — 5
    • Assists: Dominic Talbot-Tassi — 8
    • Points: Dominic Talbot-Tassi — 10
    • Wins: Louis-Philip Guindon — 5
  • This is already the third meeting of the season between the divisional rivals. They will square off once more on January 17 at McConnell Arena in Montreal.
  • Dominic Talbot-Tassi is tied for the lead in defenceman scoring in the conference with ten points in nine games.
  • Louis-Philip Guindon is second in the OUA with a .942 save percentage. He steered aside 56 of the 58 shots he faced the last time McGill played the Gee-Gees.

CARLETON GAME NOTES

  • Major Stat Leaders
    • Goals:  Cody Caron, Brogan O'Brien — 6
    • Assists: Matt Barberis, Aaron Boyd — 5
    • Points: Brogan O'Brien — 10
    • Wins: Mark Grametbauer — 5 
  • The Ravens have split time in goal equally between veteran Justin Nichols and first-year Mark Grametbauer. Grametbauer's 1.77 goals-against-average and .941 save percentage are second and third in the OUA, respectively. 
  • Five of Carleton's nine victories this season have been decided by one goal, with four coming in overtime or via the shootout. 
  • Carleton and Ottawa are slated to meet three times this season. They will square off again on November 15th for the Colonel By Classic at the Arena at TD Place.
