- The Gee-Gees enter a daunting road trip weekend riding a four game winning streak after wins against Ontario Tech and Queen's last weekend.
- A banged up starting lineup has seen the team's depth get tested, which has been a welcome challenge. Through the first four games of the season, 13 different players have registered points for the team. Seven different players have been in the starting lineup and seven players are averaging over five points per game.
- The Gee-Gees' strength on the defensive end has paid significant offensive dividends, the Gee-Gees lead the OUA in steals per game (10.3) which has resulted in an average of 26.3 points per game off of turnovers.
- Last year, the Gee-Gees closed their first semester of play with the Guelph-Algoma trip and narrowly escaped with two wins. Veteran players will be mindful of last year's results and work to ensure the Gee-Gees log better performances this time around.

- Guelph averages 27 three point attempts per game, good for fifth-highest in the OUA, however, they sit second to last in three-point percentage at 24.1 per cent. The Gryphons have also had trouble converting regular field goals, hitting only 39.4 per cent (13th in the OUA).

ALGOMA GAME NOTES
- Major Stat Leaders
- Following a much improved season last year, Algoma enters the 2019-20 season with renewed expectations. New head coach Etienne Jacquet will look for solid performances from his team against two top three ranked teams in Ottawa and Carleton this weekend. Jacquet formerly was the head coach at La Cité in Ottawa as well as was Gee-Gees guard Borys Minger's coach at the Thetford Basketball Academy.
- Algoma features a fairly balanced offensive attack, with 11 different players involved in the offence this season.
- The Thunderbirds employ a good attack getting to the free-throw line with the sixth best frequency in the OUA (21.2 attempts per game)
- Milan Acimovic's 60 per cent average from three is good enough for second best in the OUA so far this season.
