The OUA has released the schedule for the 2018 football season on Jan. 4 as the Gee-Gees look forward to the 116th season of football at the University of Ottawa.
The Gee-Gees will kickoff the season on the road to take on Yates Cup runner-up Laurier in Waterloo on Aug. 26. The following weekend on Sept. 2, they will host a Labour Day Weekend tilt against McMaster at Gee-Gees Field, a rematch of 2016's Home Opener win by the Gee-Gees.
In a third marquee matchup in as many weeks, Guelph comes to Ottawa on Sept. 8, as the Gee-Gees look to avenge 2017's OUA quarterfinal loss to the Gryphons.
After a bye in Week 4, Ottawa plays host to York at Gee-Gees Field on Sept. 22. Ottawa will look to extend a four game winning streak against the Lions dating back to the 2013 season.
With the 2017 edition of the Panda Game welcoming 24,420 fans, the 2018 iteration against Carleton at TD Place is primed to once again be the centre of attention on Sept. 29.
The Gee-Gees get a crack at defending Vanier Cup Champions Western in Week 8 at home. Short road trips to Toronto and Queen's in Weeks 7 and 9, round out the Gee-Gees road schedule.
Windsor and Waterloo, two teams the Gee-Gees defeated last season, will not be on the schedule this year.
Ottawa finished fourth in the OUA in 2017 with a 6-2 record, making it to the quarterfinal.
