uOttawa will open its 110th season of football action this week, holding its first on-field session this Friday, August 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The team will be practicing daily at Matt Anthony Field (801 King Edward Avenue) at various times throughout the day.
The camp, which will run up until the home-opening game on September 6, will host over 105 athletes. Of these players, head coach Jean-Philippe Asselin will look to form an 85-man roster.
"Everybody here is very excited to start camp, said Asselin. We have high expectations for the team and we feel it is important not to look ahead too much, but rather focus on the present day."
The Gee-Gees will travel to Sherbrooke next Wednesday, August 25, for their lone pre-season match-up at 6:30 p.m.
The Gee-Gees will hit the road once again for their 2010 Ontario University Athletics season opening game against the Windsor Lancers on Tuesday, August 31 at 7:00 p.m.
They will look for their first home win of the season when they host the Western Mustangs at Frank Clair Stadium on Monday, September 6 at 1:00 p.m.
