The 38th annual Touchdown Dinner in support of the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees football program took place this past Friday, April 23 at the Hampton Inn Ottawa.
University of Ottawa President Allan Rock welcomed over 250 guests including Gee-Gees alumni and friends, members of the corporate community as well Sports Services staff including Athletic Director Luc Gélineau.
During this year's fundraising event, six individuals were inducted into the Gee-Gees Football Hall of Fame. The Honourable John D. Richard, Dr. John (Jack) Malloy, Pierre Guindon, Jim Daley, Miles Gorrell and Ken Guarisco were recognized for their contributions to the Gee-Gees football program either as a player or as a builder.
In addition to the Hall of Fame inductions, the anniversaries of eight championship teams were celebrated. Those championship teams included:
1955 - OSLCC champions
1960 - OIFC and OSLCC winning team
1965 - OIFC and OSLAA champions
1970 - Atlantic Bowl Championship winners
1975 - Vanier Cup winners

The evening, filled with memories and honour, also marked the launch of a new fundraising initiative: the Adopt a Gee-Gee program. Contributions toward this initiative will help provide much needed enhancements to the football program including travel funds, program and equipment improvements and overall team and student athletic development.
Sports Services would like to thank all of those in attendance at the 2010 Touchdown Dinner as well as the countless volunteers who helped make the event possible.
