PREVIEW: Home weekend for first place Gee-Gees

The Gee-Gees women's soccer team continues its extended homestand this weekend with a pair of games against UOIT (7-4-2) and Trent (2-7-4). Ottawa (10-1-1) has a five point edge in the OUA East standings and is riding a four-game winning streak.

 Saturday's game against UOIT will be played at Matt Anthony Field at 801 King Edward Ave., while Sunday's match will be back at Gee-Gees Field at 200 Lees Avenue. Both games will be webcast live on

 In the season's previous matchups, Ottawa defeated Trent 4-0 before taking down UOIT by a 4-1 score. The Gee-Gees lead all of the OUA with an average of 2.92 goals per game, while UOIT ranks seventh at 1.38 per game. Defensively, Ottawa is third overall and first in the East division, allowing 0.55 goals per game. UOIT has allowed 1.09 per game.

 Following this weekend, two more regular season games remain before the OUA playoffs begin. The OUA Final Four will be hosted by the top remaining seed in the West Division.

 uOttawa hosts the 2018 U SPORTS national championship November 8-11.
