With a 36-20 victory over the visiting Sherbrooke Vert et Or, the Gee-Gees women's rugby team punched their ticket to the RSEQ Championship game on Saturday night at Matt Anthony Field.

Tries from Michaela Haley, Madison Grant and Claire Gallagher built up a sizeable lead in the first half of the contest.

Though Sherbrooke was able to respond with three tries in the second half, Aurora Bowie and Alexandra Ondo tallied tries of their own to maintain the lead, while Gallagher added a penalty kick to round out the scoring.

The Gee-Gees will meet the Laval Rouge et Or in the championship game for the third consecutive season.

Ottawa has hosted the past two finals between the two, winning by a score of 40-19 in 2018 and 25-7 in 2017.

This year however, the two team will meet on Laval's home turf, Stade TELUS-UL.

Kick-off is slated for 6:30 p.m. on October 25.

Laval and Ottawa will also be among the eight best teams in the country at Matt Anthony Field for the U SPORTS Rugby Championship presented by uOttawa from October 30 – November 3.
