Ottawa played its final game of the RSEQ women's rugby regular season Sunday with a 70-0 win over the McGill Martlets in Montreal.
uOttawa closes out their regular season a perfect 7-0 meaning the Gee-Gees have now had a fifth consecutive undefeated regular season. Overall Ottawa, outscored opponents 394-51, leading the league in both points scored and points allowed.
At McGill, the Gee-Gees took the lead early and never looked back with a strong team performance. Emily Babcock tallied three tries, supported by two each from Katie Geddes and Maya Montiel and one apiece by Ellen Murphy, Anna Dodge, and Taylor Donato.
The Gee-Gees now look ahead to the postseason which begins with an RSEQ semifinal this upcoming Friday against the University of Sherbrooke at Matt Anthony Field with a spot at the U SPORTS national championship tournament available for the winner. The semifinal will kickoff at 5 p.m. and will be webcast on OUA.tv with tickets available at tickets.geegees.ca
