RECAP: Clarke and Roberts lead Gee-Gees at home meet

The Gee-Gees cross country team competed in the Capital X-Country Challenge at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility on Saturday. With an overcast sky and a strong performance both the men's and women's teams placed third in the team standings.

The men's 6km event saw three Gee-Gees finish in the top 16. The first Gee-Gee to finish was Nicholas Roberts who finished 7th overall in a time of 19:54.10. Two of Roberts teammates weren't far behind, Ziyad El Hankouri finished in 20:04.15 for 14th place and Alex Berhe finished in 20:15.75 for 16th overall.

The women Gee-Gees finished off the day with a top performance from Madison Clarke who finished 12th overall in a time of 23:37:35. Following behind Clark was Keili Shepard who placed 18th and Samantha Klus, 19th who finished in 23:54.25 and 23:57.05 respectively.

Even though the skies were grey for spectators, Clarke said, "The weather was perfect, and made for great running conditions."

Next up for the Gee-Gees cross country teams will be the RSEQ championship meet on October 29.
